The core of Dr. Gruber's vision for progress in the effectiveness of management is research-based practices enabled by information technology. His Ph.D. thesis at MIT focused on the impact of technological progress and productivity on the growth of the United States economy.  From this research focus in the early 1960s, Dr. Gruber's research, teaching, publication, speaking, and consulting focused on factors in the development and utilization of technology, the information technology revolution, problems at the interface between the producers and users of new technology and management in an age of discontinuity.
